Taking SPRITAM

Available in 4 strengths for precise and convenient dosing

SPRITAM® (levetiracetam) Tablets for Oral Suspension rapidly disintegrate in the mouth in an average time of 11 seconds (range of 2 to 27 seconds). In fact, if you were to put SPRITAM on your tongue right now and take a sip of liquid, it would likely disintegrate before you finished reading this sentence.

Before taking SPRITAM, make sure you have received the correct medicine and strength. Compare the appearance of your medicine with the matching image below. If you think you have been given the wrong medicine, tell your pharmacist right away.

Your healthcare provider (HCP) will tell you how much SPRITAM to take and when to take it. Your HCP may change your dose. Do not change your dose or stop taking SPRITAM without talking to your HCP.

Taking SPRITAM is as easy as…

Alternately, SPRITAM may be taken by adding the whole tablet to a small volume of liquid in a cup. Add whole SPRITAM tablet(s) to a small volume of liquid in a cup (1 tablespoon or enough to cover the medicine), and swirl gently. Swallow right after the tablet(s) disintegrates. If there is any medicine left in the cup, add a small volume of liquid to the cup, swirl gently, and swallow the liquid.

Be sure to take the whole SPRITAM tablet:

  • Should be taken at the same times each day
  • Can be taken with or without food
